Cowell is known amongst industry members as being a workaholic, he sleeps between 4-6 hours a night and despite now being settled in America, will join any one of his global television phenomenon's to boost ratings, or give his unrivalled opinion on proceedings. Many of his compatriots have a lot to thank him for, quite clearly Simon Cowell has the golden touch.

But Cowell's act is knowing when something is dead (contrary to reports the X factor is not as yet dead, it's still a huge cash cow) Cole's time was up, she had gone from national sweetheart to fallen angel, and Cowell's sacking of her gained him even more admiration, it showed he had the balls to drop his handpicked star.
Then there's One Direction. He missed out on Take That in the early 90's,, instead, with the help of 'Bieber Feer' pushed 5 mopped hair young men into a tame boy band, gave them catchy songs and an image that had every girl (and in the case of Harry Styles housewife) screaming for more. They have made $100 million in their first year, and Cowell's promoting of his prized possession goes on and on as his account balance goes up and up.
The music he promotes may be shameless pop tripe, but my word, he knows how to sell it.
