However, I seem to be rekindling my love for good TV as a way of getting my childhood back, so here it goes; a list of childhood programmes I just couldn't get enough of!
1) Buffy The Vampire Slayer
I have seen every episode probably twice. My Mum and I used to tape (YES TAPE ON A VCR) Buffy on a friday night and sit and watch it ad free on a saturday morning with a cup of tea and biscuits. It was an incredible show and between the ages of I'd say 10 and 15, satisfied my need for violence, vampires and Sarah Michelle Gellar in leather pants.
2) Ed, Edd and Eddy
This cartoon was so very strange, I never really understood what went on in the TV shows, apart from the fact they had an insatiable need for jawbreakers…I also thought that someone carrying round a plank of wood, called Plank was genius…as was having a cactus plant called Jim.
3) Dexters Laboratory
Once again the premise of the show was absolutely ridiculous a boy genius with ray guns and robot fighting machines behind a hidden bookcase was constantly un-done by his ballet dancing sister, Dee Dee, who undermined Dexter by asking "oooohhhh what does this button do?"….also Mojo-jo-jo. Monkey with a massive brain, Dexter also looked like my best mate from primary school - which my Dad never failed to inform him of.
4) Rugrats
Turned out to be one of the biggest kids shows ever, having won deals to a movie and awards etc etc. The premise was a group of one year olds, who where bullied by the slightly older Angelica who ruined their imaginary world they lived in. Leader Tommy seemed to always come up with adventures involving his dinosaur. And Chuckie was just an awesome character!
5) POWER RANGERS!
Just THE most incredible television show, I mean, I actually can't put into words how amazing I find this as a child. I was absolutely hooked on the show, I have every toy imaginable, I dragged my parents to the film! AND TO TOP IT OFF I SAW THE LIVE SHOW. Best childhood memory.
