'Celebrity' President or The Real Deal?

Barack Obama and his lovely wife and beautiful daughters stepped out onto a giant blue stage with 'signed, sealed delivered' booming in the background. Obama knew how to play his crowd, very much like he did when he was first elected back in 2008.

Obama has been heavily criticised in the lead up to the election, after the first TV debate, Mitt Romney appeared to the American people -not as a saviour or christ-like figure that Obama appeared to be in 2007 and 2008 - but more a hair-gelled and teeth whitened alternative.

Obama knows how to utilise a speech to his advantage, much like his victory speech this time around,  Using emotive language like 'liberty' and 'freedom' and 'unity'. However, it that first debate people saw Obama come unstuck against a business man, that might be detrimental to Romney, but before that debate no one gave him a chance, however the day before the election 2 of the 4 major polls put him 1% ahead.

Obama has been labelled a 'Celebrity President' and you can see why, his relationship with the ultimate American power couple Jay-Z and Beyonce is something that hasn't really been seen before. Obama has become engulfed by the celebrity culture because he has embraced it. Perhaps not intentionally, but he is everywhere or was. When he was first elected he became the most recognisable face on the planet, a beacon of hope for not only the American people, but for the western world. However, many Americans feel he has failed to deliver - and the wave of optimism slowly faded out.

Re-elected Obama has a chance to prove his doubters wrong.
